Ascent Fostering Schools Programme

As an outstanding therapeutic fostering agency, Ascent delivers specialist training to our foster carers who support and care for children who have suffered from early life trauma. Through our Ascent Fostering Schools Programme we would like the opportunity to share with you some of our simple tried and tested Tips & Tools that can help regulate children who display this trauma without too much anxiety intervention for all involved.

National Statistics show that in 2022 one child in every thirty is under a social care provision as either a child in need, looked after child, adopted, or has a child protection plan. This equates to over 650,000 referrals which is an 8.8% increase from 2021.  This means that many children attending school have experienced early life trauma which will impact their learning, engagement, and relationships with peers and authority figures.

We can offer a FREE training session that would cover topics such as Attachment, Developmental Trauma, Brain Development, Enriching Environments and Transitions. These sessions would ideally suit your teaching and support staff as well as potentially any parent who may be struggling.

Sessions can be delivered at your school during an inset day or after school as supplementary training. The running time of a session would be between 2.5 – 3 hours with a maximum of fifteen people
